Z Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets the world’s fastest 3D Printers - machines that produce physical prototypes quickly, easily, and inexpensively from computer-aided design (“CAD”) and other digital data. Z Corp.’s 3D Printers are used by companies to make prototypes ranging from toys for market feedback to fan blades for functional testing. Their printers are also used to produce medical anatomical models, some in full color with their proprietary full-color 3D printing process.

Z Corporation is supporting the RP4Baghdad effort by pledging 70 RP models produced with 3D Printing technology and also by pledging cash support to the project.

Medical Modeling offers advanced “tactile imaging” services to reconstructive surgeons across the globe. They create highly accurate replica models of anatomy to allow medical specialists the opportunity to see and touch what they can otherwise only imagine. The company has experience in several cases of surgical separation of conjoined twins.

Medical Modeling supports the RP4Baghdad effort with model building support to Z Corporation. They provided 2500 US$ in cash support for the RP4Baghdad project. They also donated approximately 10,000 US$ worth of surgical supplies: titanium mini-plates and screws for fixation of cranio-maxillofacial fractures.

EOS is the world-leading manufacturer of laser-sintering systems used for Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Tooling and Rapid Manufacturing. Laser-sintering is the key technology for e-Manufacturing, the fast, flexible and cost-effective production directly from CAD data. EOS donates 5,000 US$ each year to the RP4Baghdad project. Within the scope of this project EOS is going to build up medical models with its laser-sintering systems. These models are intended for use during surgeries e. g. as drilling blankets. Moreover, EOS is offering to build implants in Cobalt-Chrome or stainless steel. Especially suited for these applications is the EOS technology "Direct Metal Laser-Sintering (DMLS)" which already is used in several medical applications today.

Redding Engineering LLC has announced the agreement to donate 250+ medical CT/MRI engineering models to the Rapid Prototype for Baghdad (http://www.rp4baghdad.org/) project currently underway throughout the world. “It is of the utmost importance to use technology that is otherwise unavailable to most of the Iraqi citizens who have been injured due to the conflict there. We are proud to join the other members and sponsors of this effort. The recipients of this help in most cases are simply innocent civilians caught in the crossfire who have their lives changed inexplicably. All the technology in the world won’t help these people unless we make an effort to get it to them and that’s just what this group is doing. We would also encourage others in our industry to get involved, as well as those outside to donate to what we feel is an extremely worthy cause for the betterment of humanity. ” – Duane Redding
